Privacy notice
Personal Coach is a small, invite-only training app. This page explains which personal data it stores, why, and what you can do about it. Some of it is health data (heart rate, injuries, pain), which the GDPR treats as a special category: it is only used to plan your training, with your explicit consent when you enter or sync it.
What is stored
- Account: name and email address from your Microsoft sign-in.
- Profile: what you enter: birth date, sex, height, weight, heart rates, VO2max, experience, goals, equipment and notes.
- Injuries and pain you report, including pain logged in session feedback.
- Training: your schedules, the feedback per session, weekly check-ins, and your questions to the coach with its answers.
- Garmin (only if you connect it): activities of the last six months and later, with the summary Garmin provides (time, distance, heart rate and time per zone, pace, training load and effect, elevation, cadence, temperature, fastest splits and similar). Location and your Garmin account details are removed before storing. If you allow it in your profile: weight, resting and max heart rate and heart-rate zones. Your Garmin key is stored encrypted.
- Usage: when schedules were requested and how many AI tokens they used (for limits and costs), and technical logs of errors.
Why
Only to build and adjust your training schedules, show your progress, and keep the service running within its limits. Your data isn't sold, used for advertising, or shared with other users.
Who processes it
- Microsoft Azure (West Europe) hosts the app, the database and the error logs.
- Anthropic (Claude API) generates schedules and answers questions. For each request it receives the relevant profile, injuries, recent training and feedback, but not your name or email address. Anthropic doesn't use API data to train its models.
- Garmin provides your activity data when you connect your Garmin account.
How long
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything above is deleted from the database straight away; database backups roll over within 7 days.
Your rights
- See and take your data: Profile → Your data → Download all my data.
- Correct it: edit your profile and injuries at any time, or turn off updates from Garmin.
- Withdraw consent and delete: under Connections, disconnect Garmin to stop new syncs, or choose “Disconnect and delete my Garmin data” to also delete every synced activity. Or delete your whole account under Profile → Your data.
- You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Belgium: the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données).
